What's the deal with the blurring line?

Sometimes, what I read seems so real that I'm not always sure it didn't really happen!
For example, I am quite certain that Marcellus really never was the same after The Robe.

Good Bye Maine!

Sand Beach & Great Head Trail (Saturday)

We went back to Sand Beach so we could take a short hike on the Great Head Trail. It's amazing how different the beach looks in the early morning fog! And can you believe it --- we were the ONLY people on the beach at all! After crossing the peaceful beach, we climbed these stairs up to the Great Head Trail.

Schooner Head (Saturday)

We got up early so we could go to our favorite rocks one more time and sip coffee while we listened to the waves. Here is Craig photographing the sea cave. The tide is quite a bit higher than the day we were exploring tide pools!

Ship Harbor (Friday)

Hiking to Beech Mountain (Friday)

It was just a bit foggy when we started our hike at the southern end of Long Pond. But Dad had his trusty compass, so we weren't worried. Wildlife sightings have been rare here. We hear birds but seldom see them. On the water, we've seen several ducks and gulls, but that's about it. Almost there! The view from the summit. Not exactly as advertised, but who can control the weather anyway? At the summit, there is this old fire tower, no longer in use since The Forestry Service now uses small planes to track fires. "Can you hear me now?" I guess this is some type of moss, but it looks so much like someone painted cauliflower pictures on this stone! The road goes ever on and on, and I must follow if I can. . .

Fog and Fall (Thursday)

Thursday evening, the harbor really looked different as the fog settled in. Craig took a nasty fall off his bike toward the end of our ride. A few hours later, he noticed a lovely goose egg growing next to his right eye. He wasn't even aware he had hit his head! We're glad we had helmets on! Today, the swelling is down, and there is just some discoloration over the eye, usually not noticeable unless his eyes are closed.

Bubble Pond (Thursday)

After our long bike ride, we still had a couple hours before we needed to turn in the bikes. I was feeling pretty spent, but decided I could handle a short ride. So we took the shuttle to Bubble Pond and rode down the path beside the pond for about 15 minutes. Below, you see Craig working hard to get a picture for me. I have been trying to get a picture of all the different flowers I've seen growing wild in the park. Below, check out the bright yellow flower that was growing from the lily pad.
