What's the deal with the blurring line?

Sometimes, what I read seems so real that I'm not always sure it didn't really happen!
For example, I am quite certain that Marcellus really never was the same after The Robe.

Birthday Celebration

Like any mom, I clearly remember the day this girl came into our lives.

Last weekend, we celebrated her birthday, Scheffers-style, in Kalamazoo.

It was not the first time they have invited Bartons to join a Scheffers gathering, though to look at the following pictures, you would think it was all about us! Actually, we were celebrating Bryan's graduation, Michelle's and Kristin's birthdays, and maybe another event or two of the Scheffers variety. You can see that Laura brought Jon with her. You might also notice that I tried to very sensitive and not let him be overwhelmed by the paparazzi. Sittin' in the sunLMC says "Cool!"Daddy's cool too! Birthday clothes - Michelle and Kristin have remarkably similar tastes! (And so does Terri!) Experiencing a thing called a (small) "hill." Wrapped like a tortilla, compliments of Auntie Em.

Hummingbirds

Don't you think it'd be fun to hand feed hummingbirds? This lady did!

There can be no doubt. . . .

I think it may be true; spring is sweeter to those who have endured a long, bleak winter. I always have liked morning and the feeling of a fresh start. I guess spring is just a more comprehensive morning. All creation seems to be waking. The grass is definitely green, and today, I saw a bit of green on the tops of some of the trees.

Animals animals animals

Jack bought a couple more goats for the ranch, and we went out with him to pick them up, and to see the other animals that the farmer has there. The whole place did not quite seem like it belonged in the middle of a city, but there it was! There were lots and lots of goats. . . Peacocks strutting around. . . And, of all things, lemurs! Who'd have thought?Isn't this the cutest donkey ever? This is one of Jack's, but he won't be weaned until July.

Zilker Park

Unfortunately, the playground was closed, but we did get to ride the train. I don't think EB and Laura remembered riding, back in about 87 or 88. After the park, we visited Barton Creek Mall for a little shopping and a final Chick Fil A. Peyton and Carolyn especially enjoyed the shoes. So many shoes, so little time.....

Sunday in Austin

We enjoyed a visit from Uncle Dave and David on Sunday. Peyton helps Uncle Jack taste the chips. Jack and Mark do some fine grilling for fajitas. It appears that Mark is now the designated slicer/carver for the clan. He looked quite expert to me.

Carolyn and the Bluebonnets

Bluebonnets even make national news. Read about it here.

Peyton's new 'do

Check it out!

LMC and the Park

We found a very nice park near the house. They had toddler/preschooler size playground equipment, and LMC was quite pleased. Below, one of LMC's absolute favorite activities: going up and down a little step. Up and down. Up and down. And up and down again. And again. And again.

San Antonio

We had lunch at Mamacita's. Carolyn enjoyed visiting with Grans. But I didn't take the time to arrange everyone else in a picture, so you'll have to use your imagination.

More Austin

At first it was cool and cloudy yesterday, just right for a brand new raincoat. LMC experienced her first Blue Bell ice cream sandwich. Mmmmm! Carolyn summarized her interest in bluebonnets in two words: "All Done!!"
