What's the deal with the blurring line?

Sometimes, what I read seems so real that I'm not always sure it didn't really happen!
For example, I am quite certain that Marcellus really never was the same after The Robe.

Biking in Petoskey

Sunset over Lake Michigan

Saturday morning, ready to ride

Sunday morning, another bright and sunny day

But 3 or 4 miles into our ride to Harbor Springs, my rear axle broke, and my bike would not pedal at all.  The pedals just spun round and round.
So we left the group, and walked back to the car (3 or 4 miles) and then drove back to pick up the bikes.
After we retrieved the bikes, we did some scenic driving.  We saw lots of beautiful lakefront homes.
 i

We drove on Highway 119, which is a narrow, windy road next to the lake from Harbor Springs to Cross Village.  It's called the Tunnel of Trees.
We stopped at Petoskey State Park so we could wade in Lake Michigan before heading home.

Good bye, winter!

OK, so maybe it's not really spring yet, but winter has certainly got to be feeling threatened! We got to ride bikes at Stony Creek for the first time in months. The blanket of snow was receding, and by today, there's probably not much left. The lake was still frozen, but not completely. They are too tiny in the picture, but there were geese swimming in the water below. I was surprised to still see people out on the ice; I would have thought it was dangerous with temperatures well above freezing!

Tour De Troit

On Saturday, we rode in the 8th annual Tour De Troit, a 30 mile leisurely bike ride through the city (with police escort, of course!) The weather was perfect, and we had a great time. I heard there were about 2000 cyclists this year. We met up with our friends, Chris and Cliff, and spent much of the day with them. We rode past the Detroit River. You can see Canada in the distance. Below is the Ambassador Bridge to Canada. We had a break at a park on the Detroit River. Apples and waters were served. You can see the bridge to Belle Isle in the background.

Bike Trip Day 2

Sunday, we had clear sunny skies for our ride on the White Pine Trail to Rockford. This was 18 miles, which made my grand total for the weekend 66 miles! (That would be a record for me!)
