What's the deal with the blurring line?

Sometimes, what I read seems so real that I'm not always sure it didn't really happen!
For example, I am quite certain that Marcellus really never was the same after The Robe.

Lubbock

At the airport, right before we left
Here is the road to the Bracketts' house. There had been just a little bit of rain. Larry thinks the county needs to do some work on the road.

Here's a picture of the whole family Ben got married. I thought it was such a nice shot, though it's a little distorted because of the angle I had to hold the camera to keep the flash from glaring.

You would hardly recognize the house! This is looking from the living room into the game room, which is actually where there used to be a little sunroom where y'all used to work at the table.

Lots of Fam

Lots of Bartons in San Antonio I really like my new tea set! Visiting with Grans

Bluebonnets and Carolyn

There's nothing quite like Texas in springtime. :) Alright, already!!! I'm smiling!!! See these teeth????

Grace House

Papa gets to hold both of his great grandchildren, and Granny meets little Carolyn for the very first time. There are Four Anns again! Isn't it fun to be part of a long tradition? Two proud grandmothers with two little ones. (Grandmothers don't seem nearly as old as they used to!) A picture in Granny's room shows Granny (on the right) with her sister Sue. See any family resemblance carried down?

Carolyn Meets Peyton

Carolyn meets Cousin Peyton(actually Second Cousin Peyton Not Removed)(though his parents are once removed).
I think she was duly impressed!

This will make you laugh

This will make you laugh. It's a little long, but definitely worth the read, especially for all those Jack Bauer fans out there.,
Dear Esteemed Local Cable Provider -

I’m sure at this point you’re somewhat tired of hearing from my husband and me, seeing as how you have been summoned to our house at least seven times in the last two months, not to mention my husband’s thrice-weekly calls to your customer service department regarding our reliably unreliable internet service. (Feel free to use that “reliably unreliable” phrase in your next ad campaign, by the way. If that doesn’t suit your fancy, you can always go with “consistently inconsistent.” Because that too would apply.)

Happy Pi Day!

These people are just plain weird. Or they have way too much time on their hands.

Reciting pi in the shower?

Creating a poem to help you remember? It's 4000 words long and the length of each word corresponds to a digit of pi. "One: A Poem: A Raven," it begins (3-1-4-1-5).

Today, March 14 (or 3.14) they celebrate pi. They eat pies, and well, they recite pi to each other, and try to make it seem like it is not a very strange thing.

Why, you ask? It seems many of them come back with the same answer. "Why climb Mount Everest? Because it is there."

Tumbleweed Tiny House

There is this guy named Jay Shafer of the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company who builds tiny houses. His concern seems to be to minimize the impact on the environment and also to avoid maintaining unnecessary space.

I find the whole idea rather intriguing. For one thing, I don't know why, but I have always loved tiny things. (So cute!) And I sometimes feel frustrated heating and cooling and cleaning and keeping up so much space when there is so little need for it most of the time!

I did not say I'm ready to get one of these homes, only that I think the idea is interesting. Shafer makes plans and builds homes from 70 square feet (bet there's not much of a market for that) to 500 square feet. Some people use them as a country getaway, or a freestanding addition for an aging parent.

My favorites are the Ernesti(the white one) and the B-52 Bungalow, though it's possible I could be talked into the S House if it came with the mountains pictured in the background! You can see the different models here.

A Love Story

Check out this photo story from Australia. Read of the wingless cockatiel and the one who wooed and won her. All told with beautiful photography.

The set of the sails

One ship drives east and another drives west
With the selfsame winds that blow.
’Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales
Which tells us the way to go.

Like the winds of the sea are the ways of fate,
As we voyage along through life:
’Tis the set of a soul
That decides its goal,
And not the calm or the strife.
