What's the deal with the blurring line?

Sometimes, what I read seems so real that I'm not always sure it didn't really happen!
For example, I am quite certain that Marcellus really never was the same after The Robe.

Sad

Last night, I found out Dorian lost her battle with cancer this past summer. Dorian was one of my roommates in nursing school. Though I hadn't spoken with her since our Waco weekend more than a year ago, it still leaves a bit of a hollow place in my heart to know she is gone. I'm sure she's in a better place, and that she's not suffering, and I expect she's not at all unhappy about the transfer. But still it makes me ache inside.

Sad

Kelly James was found in the snow cave, but he was not alive. The search continues for the others, but it doesn't look very hopeful, since no one has heard from them at all. The blog for them continues here.

I am sad!

I'm so sad that the dad was found but not alive! I have been praying for James Kim and his little family the past several days. I confess to checking the news several times a day to see if he'd been found. I'm so sorry for their loss, and hoping and praying that somehow God will bring good out of it.
