Sometimes, what I read seems so real that I'm not always sure it didn't really happen!
For example, I am quite certain that Marcellus really never was the same after The Robe.

The new table


After 27 years of faithful service, we are retiring the old table, which was bought used from a coworker. The new table is a little bigger than I had imagined, but I think it's very pretty. In fact, so pretty I hate to put a glass of water on it! So I'm in the market for placemats.

My dear daughters, if you happen to see some pretty placemats such as might match my dishes, or look fairly neutral, buy them immediately and I shall pay you promptly. (Of course, do not buy them if they are outrageously expensive!)

Weird Convertor

Just in case you were wondering. . . Someone has finally created a conversion table for things you never thought to compare. For example, you can now know how many giraffe necks it would take to equal the Empire State Building. (That'd be about 249.)
Or how many spider monkeys would equal the weight of a baby grand piano. (That'd be 37.5.) Check out more unusual conversions here.

Blue herons

Did you know that we have a blue heron rookery near here? Just behind the bowling alley, in fact. Tonight, we saw a couple herons high up in the nest of these trees. One was flying around and would not be still for a picture, but here is the other:
